YVell, she suddenly acquired a deep baritone voice and now substitutes for Nelson Eddy., EDDIICKSGC this building? It's Sam Cowan's Pool Room. He runs this on week days and as a side line, takes care of ladies' babies, and teaches Sunday School classes. .IOANNIC-YOU know nearly all our boys turned out to be pretty good. Wlhy, Ver- non Davis is now in Hollywood teaching Donald Duck's grandchildren to swim. EDDIE-EVCII Ted Farris found a perfect Utopia in the South Sea Islands where, living alone, he is sole dictator and ruler of the waves. .IOANNIC-YOU know, it's a good thing lris had that part in The Mad Breakfast, because she found her sphere, and is now the most popular landlady on Park Avenue. EDDI1-PANVHSIIYI that sweet of Frames Farrar to help out all the girls by opening Glamour School in Fishville? -IOANNLQ-l'll say, and by practicing what she preached she hxed herself up with a millionaire. EDDIl'IhVVl1CI1 did you say Sidney was going to return from Italy? -IOANNIC-AS soon as he finishes his latest epic poem, An Elegy in a Country .lit- terbug joint. S. snored so loud that Betty ran away and joined the circus. .IOANNIC-Clllll you imagine Hazel and Evelyn having a fight? EDDll'11H6iik, no! X'Vhat were they squawking about? AIoANN1f1-They had a hght over the milkman. Hazel won out, so Evelyn went to Timbuktu to teach people about plant life in America. Euultc-YVl1at's going to happen? Audrey and Tootie settled down on a water-lily farm on the Sahara Desert. Audrey is having a time keeping her hands lily white though she has already used several bottles of bleaching lotion which 'llootie manufactures out of white sand and lye soap. AIOANNIC-1,111 just thrilled over Grace Jacksons offer to tell her secret of beauti- ful hair if someone will tell her a painless way of removing wrinkles. Eunuc-I guess O. D. johnson is the lucky guy then, 'cause I hear he has invented a lotion that is guaranteed to take the wrinkles out of a washboard. .IoANN1i-Talking about lucky . . . That's Roberta Landry. Have you heard about the way Beverly Coles is leading Cleo around by the nose? Enmri-XVell, Florence and Marie still haven't decided , . . they made headlines when they fought that duel under the old oak tree. JUANNE-A duel over whom? EDDIE--full, a certain college football hero . . . JOANNE-Football! Boy could you believe it when Ralph Metz won the trophy for having coached the most outstanding team last year. EDDIE-YC21l1l Beverly Metz didn't do so bad either. She made a fortune designing clothes lor the beautification of stout women. .IOANNE-CQUCSS what! Harry Yllilkerson was elected national president of the De Molays . . . and in his spare time gives lectures on back-stage craft. EDDIE-And just as we expected, Clarice and l'uckett's dance team was a big hit on Broadway in Betty XValts' burlesque show. KIOANNE-Yeah, and someone else is on Broadway . . . Elaine Denham and Lillie Bell Kleinpeter. EDDIE-Hasn't Lillie Bell gone to Hollywood? AIOANNE-Oh, that's right! Frances Baker did promise her a part in her next pro- duction. EDDHQ-Don't you remember when Frances directed our radio program? AIOANNE-YCHD, and l can remember when Lillie Bell and Elaine couldn't dance any better than any of the fest of us in the physical ed. classes. EDDIPI-Olll and did you hear about Martha and Roy? KIOANNE-Ull-ull. EDDIE-Martha gave such a realistic performance ol' a day on the farm on the Farm and Home Hour that Roy ran right out and bought another frat pin for her. JOANNI-2--Tliat was swell ol' Dee to give all the boys a break by establishing the first male harem. Boy! The men went wild. EDDlE1XVC went to the Grove the other night and who do you think the new bouncer is? -IoANNr:-Who? Two-Ton Tony? EDIDIE1-Nfll Louise Doherty. AIOANNE-YOU know. 1 never thought anyone in our class would turn Olll to be a desperado. EDDII-I-l didn't either, but Leonard and Cordon sure fooled ns. .IoANNE-Didn't they though, and l hear that every day during the rest period at Alcatraz they argue to see which one deserves to be called Public Enemy No. l. EDDll'I-Olll That's awful! yVe thou 'ht for sure Leonard and Catherine would get hitched, but since Leonard turned gangster Catherine went to Hollywood where she became the chief hairdresser lor Charlie McCarthy and the bald men. JOANNE-XVell, Eddie, I guess I'd better start back to my plane. By the way, who do you think flew me down? Douglas Sumrell of all people. EDDIE-XVhy, I never knew he got back from the war. .IOANNE-Oh sure, and he won so many gold medals that when he melted them he was able to put the U.S. back on the gold standard.
