fi i 5 I m E FOREWORD 'J'O ALL loyal Deans for all time, we present this Ka Palapala. For cer- tain reasons wc have chosen to call it the progress number. In this volume of Ka Palapala we have attempted to capture not only the salient features of the past year, but also the outstanding events of many years past. . . . Here you will find recorded the work of those who have given their best that their Alma Mater might flourish. There were many others who contributed in their own unselfish way, and there were many more who were willing to follow even though it meant hard work and little praise. . . . The 1931 Ka Palapala is for those whose hearts beat in time to the strains of Alma Mater, whose best principles are aroused by the sight of the Rainbow, and who are willing to give without thought of returns. This is the book of the true and loyal Dean.
