I»v Act of tin General Assembly, approved August 2:1. 1889. is vested in a Board of Trustees. appointed by the Governor for a term of eight years, and confirmed by tin Senate. The Board consists of one member from each Congressional District of the State, four from the State at large. and two from the city of Athens. The Governor and the Chairman of tin Board of Directors of the School of Technology, the Georgia Normal and Industrial College, and the Colored Industrial College are ex-oflieio members of the Board. The immediate control and management of each of tin departments of the Cniversity situated elsewhere than at Athens is entrusted (subject to general control by the Cniversity Trustees) to a “Local Board” or Commission.” the number of members, mode of appointment and terms of office of which vary. The Cniversity Trustees meet in stated annual session on the Thursday preceding the Commencement Sunday, and at other times at their pleasure.
