Government of the University of Georgia. Tin government of the University, l»y Act of the General Assembly, approved August 2d, 1889. is vested in a Hoard of Trustees, appointed by the Go -ernor for a term of eight years, and confirmed by the Senate. The Board consists of one member from each Congressional district of llu State, four from the State at large, and two from the city of Athens. The Governor and the Chairmen of the Hoard of Directors of the School of Technology. the Georgia Normal and Industrial College, and the Colored Industrial College are cx-ofiicio members of the Board. The immediate control and management of each of the departments of the University situated elsewhere thau at Athens is entrusted (subject to general control by the University Trustees) to a “Local Board ' or a “Commission.’ the number of members, mode of appointment and terms of office of which vary.
