FIRST WEEKS DriTTing Through The unreaIiTy of days Surrounded by grey walls And sTained glass biTs of naTure's iigsaw puzzles, I am hidden among seekers aTTer The body's secreTs And chemicals ThaT burn and coalesce Behind The high sharp walls. Almosf TorgoTTen are The places where IiTe's soughT In painT or Iove or in wild music And when I meeT The oTher seekers my Tongue sfumbles For lack oT pracTice in Their words. Dr. Flynn. I don'T Think you know your TecTum Trom a hole in The ground. FIRST YEAR - MARCH How many springs. Then. shall I lose in sTudy As paymenT Tor my aspiraTions? Days limp by, here in This heavy air Thick wiTh The smells of sleepless nighTs And old wiTh libraries. OuTside is Ioveliness - And Though The blinds are closed, or rooms buiIT windowless againsT Their coming, The sunIighT bends round corners To Touch my shoulder And new-Ieaved Trees, like children, call To me To puT away my books and come To see The sky.
