FOREWORD You see before you the picture of a university undergoing the adjustments of a changing world — a world at war. We as students of the university have had to remould our lives and our pursuits to adjust to the challenge which lies ahead. To those naval and marine personnel who are new on our campus we wish to say that we have sincerely enjoyed your stay with us. We hope this book will enable you to carry away more lasting memories of Boulder. Although we are ever aware of the absence of those faculty and students who are no longer at the university, we, each of us who remain, are trying to carry on in their stead. We are all striving for an equal goal — a world of peace; they are engaged in our immediate defense; we are preparing ourselves for the de- fense of the tomorrows to come.
