Their appointment, as the President explains at the University Sing when he conducts the investiture, is based on qualities of high intellectual attainment coupled with leadership in non-academic activities. Each group has the tra- ditional privilege of making recommendations for its successor. The President designates one of the men as Head Marshal, to super- vise the work of the entire group. The retiring members choose one woman for the unofficial post of Senior Aide to take general charge of the work of the Aides. mmmmm j mi
