The laboratories in Kent Chemical Hall are very finely appointed and every modern appliance that could be procured to add to their perfection of equipment can be found here. ' In March, 1892, Mr. Marshall Field subscribed S100,000 toward a building and equipment fund, conditioned on the raising of 51,000,000 in ninety days, his own gift and Mr. Kentls donation being included in that fund. The entire sum was raised within the specified time. This amount was made up for the most part of large sums designated for particular buildings.
