Four roc- kers were kept in motion over a 24-hour period, with S1000 donated and pledged to the group. The third annual Tennis Happening was sponsored by the Recreation Majors Society. The proceeds, over SLOOO, were donated to the Iohnson County Association for Retarded Chil- dren. Charity Events everal campus organizations sponsored charity service projects throughout the year. Spirit Roll Ill, a fund raising and education campaign benefiting the American Heart Association and Easter Seals Society, was sponsored by Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and Alpha Xi Delta sorority. The two groups rolled a wheelchair carrying a heart from Warrensburg to Worlds of Fun, netting over 58,000 in con- tributions. They also applied to the Guiness Book of World Records for the longest wheelchair push. Another record breaking charity event was the Spade Marathon sponsored by the men of Foster Hall and Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Over S300 was collected for Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.
