The heated pool was dedicated on June 22, by Dr. Warren C. Lovinger, president of the university. To celebrate the opening of the Aquatic Center, a show was presented by Dr. Tom Hairabedian involving water ballet, diving ex- hibitions, and water polo. Refreshments were then served to all guests. The pool is olympic size and has two diving boards, one which is a high dive. At its deepest part, the pool is sixteen feet deep. There is also a wading pool for children. The Pertle Springs Golf Course officially opened in the spring of 1964 with nine-holes of sand greens which was later expand- ed to an 18-hole course. ln the beginning, the fairways were rough and the sand greens were very small, but all of that was to change at a future date. In the fall of 1969, nine holes were changed over to grass greens with play beginning on them the following summer. The other nine holes were changed to grass greens during the fall of 1971.
