Best Dressed Girl is chosen from twenty-nine contestants Frills. lace, and beauty were displayed in splendor this year as twenty- nine Central Missouri State coeds competed in the Best Dressed Girl Contest in llendriclas Hall on January 25, 1972. Chosen from eleven finalists was Debbie Nickall, sponsored by Sigma Tau Gamma, as the best dressed girl. Mary Moore representing Delta Zeta and Susan Kingsley representing Sigma Sigma Sigma were awarded honorable mentions. Oh You Great Big Beautiful Doll was the theme of the extravaganza and the tune played by pianist Ann Newton, as the candidates passed before the judges. The contestants were evaluated on poise, personality, grooming, and grace. The twenty-nine candidates were interviewed by the judges for indepth looks into specific areas of beauty and character. Prior to the show, all the contestants and judges were honored at a dinner in the North Dining Hall of the College Union. During the entertainment segment, Dave Wolf and Sherry Slinkard performed with a medley of folk ballads. judges for the contest were Mrs. Lynn Hausman, Mrs. Ruby Warlick, Mr. ,lames Jonson, Mr. Greg Onstot, and Mr. Ronald Van Dam. Speaker of the Senate The Student Government Association is a student governing body elected by the students, for the students. Programs and legislation implemented by the SGA this year have been: university status, for which two student representatives were sent to the Missouri Caucus, political forums, co-ed dorms, legal assistance, liberalization of dorm hours and various service projetsg one of the largest being the West Side Development Program to which they contributed over 55300. The Prexy Club, made up of the presidents and heads of all CMS campus organizations, convenes at a monthly dinner meeting with Dr. Warren C. Lovinger, president of the college, to discuss a student-suggested agenda and receive an- nouncements of interest.
