This year they went with the Fighting Mules to the University of Missouri at Rolla to perform at hall' time. ln recent years, they have appeared on nation-wide television at the hall' times of three Kansas City Chiefs games, two of the St. Louis Cardinal games. and the NCAA Pecan Bowl, thereby, appearing on all three major networks. Each member of the 133 member band is selected at tryouts in the early fall of each school year. Although most of the members are music majors, students from any' department of the college may be in the band. For the past four years, Dale Carder has been the drum major. Twirlers are Kathy Wagner, head twirler, Chris Houston and Denise Closson. Mike Farley has been the yell leader for the past two years. The Marching Mules are directed by Dr. Russell Coleman.
