Formal introduction of the RHISTQR Queen candidates and their escorts by Steve Pearce, master of ceremonies, preceded the con- cert. The touring choir, which began its workin 1963, is composed of thirty virtuoso professional singers and four instrumental accompanists. Elegance and verve was demonstrated in the choral direction of music rang- ing from classical to popular. Mr. lruboff has composed and arranged music for more than eighty moving pic- tures before forming the touring choir. During intermis- sion ofthe concert, Miss Patricia VVeiss was crowned as 1970 RH ETQR Queen. Marilyn Rohrhach accompanied the coronation with a medley of selections on the organ. After the coronation, the choir again performed forthe Queens Court and the audience assembled in Hen- dricks Hall. Norman Luhoff

FIRST PRINCESS Carolyn Palmer Phi Sigma Epsilon Patty Weiss is crowned as RHETOR Queen by Editor Neil Johnston. SECOND PRINCESS Kathleen Zacha Lambda Chi Alpha Editor of RHETOR crowns ueen during concert intermission Twenty-three CMS coeds vied for the title of 1970 RHE- TOR Queen. During the performance ofthe Norman Luboff choir concert on March 20, Miss Patricia Weiss was crowned 1970 RHETOR Queen by Editor Neil Iohn- ston. Also named to the Queenls Court were First Prin- cess Carolyn Palmer and Second Princess Kathleen Za- cha. judges for the selection of the Queen were Mr. Townsend Codsey, director of public relations at the Col- lege of the Ozarks, Mr. jack Lyon, Associate Dean of Students at Southwest Missouri State College, and Mrs. Marie Huff, director of home economics for the State Department of Education. judging took place on Friday, March 13. Candidates were judged on poise, personality, and appearance during interviews held in Fitzgerald Hall. judging continued that evening as candidates at- tended a reception in the College Union which preceded the RHFTOR Queen banquet held in the south dining room. Final judging took place as candidates answered questions following the banquet. 25
