Mr. Russ Coleman, Director. l Marching Mules perform at St. Louis Cardinal game Led by Drum Major Carlton Combs, the Mules, March- ing Band enjoyed a year of numerous activities. Fall term found the band leading the annual Homecoming parade, as well as supporting the Mules at all home football games. In addition, the CMS band followed the Mules to the SWMS-CMS football game in Springfield. The Marching Mules also had the honor of performing during half-time at the St. Louis Cardinals-Cleveland Browns national league football game which was tele- vised on December 10. David Lay acted as senior assistant for the marching band which consisted of 120 members, selected through try-outs. The majorette twirlers were Connie White, head twirler, Larna Shelton, and Lynn Kirby. The CMS Marching Mules step high as they lead the way for the other Homecoming parade entries. 28
