Paul Revere's Raiders perform for students Paul Revere and The Raidersj, third most popular recording group in the nation, blasted the CMS cam- pus from its pre-finals routine on February 13, in a two-hour concert held in Garrison Gymnasium. The Raiders, sponsored by the Student Government Asso- ciation, pleased the fanfilled audience with such mem- orable hits as Just Like Usf' I-lungryf, and Kicks, Vocalists Freddy Cannon and Brian Hyland also ap- peared, presenting their popular hits. In addition, two rock in roll groups, The Exilesv and The Girls shared the evenings spotlight. Approximately 3,000 attended The Raidersm program, a Dick Clark production, costing over S'7,500. ALPHA PHI O EG 5 'M U W sponsors 1968 UMOC Collecting 954900.00 for the March of Dimes, the 1968 UMOC contest culminated its activities on February 17 with a Ball in the College Union Ballroom. The annual campus charity drive, in its 18th year, was sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega, service fraternity. This yearis UMOC activities included penny jars in the Union, a car smashing contest, a dance for intro- ducing candidates, and an ice carving contest. Crowning the Ugly Man and Beauty Queen high- lighted the UMOC Ball and closed the drive on Satur- day, February 17. The organization collecting the most money honored its candidate as the Ugly Man. Winning from the ten candidates for Ugly Man was Wayne Wisbrock, Theta Chi. Runners-up, in order, were Tom Biggar, Sigma Tau Gamma, Gary Inglish, AIS, and Tom Klusmeyer, Phi Sigma Epsilon. The Beauty Queen, Susan Rude, Delta Zeta, was selected by ballot. Lynda Bill, Sigma Kappa, Was first runner- up, and Geniece Clawson, Alpha Omicron Pi, Was second runner-up. Jimmy Tucker and his orchestra provided the music for the dance. Theta Chi fraternity's 853751.17 UMOC contribution secured the Ugly Man title for Wayne Wisbrock.
