r 7 , , President's Message Among the priceless possessions of all college people are the yearbooks of which they are a part. As years go hy, it is to these yearbooks that they go for memories of pleasant events, for assistance in recalling names and faces of students and faculty members, and even for comparing fashions. We at Central Missouri State Col- lege are particularly fortunate in the traditionally high quality of the RHETOH. ln a very real way the 1966 RHETOR belongs to each member of the student body and faculty of Central Missouri State College. Each, through participation in the College program during the past year, has played an important role in making possible this excellent publi- cation. The pictorial record presented in it is a history of the events of the year and the personalities around whom those events were centered. As time passes, there will be no more comprehensive or authentic his- tory of the year's achievements by the College than appears in the 1966 RHETOR. As the earliest yearbooks of Central Missouri State College have now become collectors' items, so will this record of the achievements of 1966 serve an important role in the archives of the College in decades to come. For the present, all will find enjoyment from the pages of this attractive book while putting it to proper use as a reminder of life on the campus in 1966. lf this RHE- TOH is completely successful, it will also serve the important purpose of making more real to everyone the traditions and philosophy surrounding the Alma Mater while encouraging loyalty on the part of students, fac- ulty, and alumni. The year represented by this volume has seen great advancement on the campus. The rapid growth in en- rollment has been compensated by an appropriate ex- pansion in faculty and staff with an accompanying growth in physical facilities. lts painstaking and artistic portrayal of this advancement will undoubtedly place the 1966 RHETOR among the outstanding yearhooks of the nation. The editor and her associates are to be commended for the excellence of their work. The contribution which they have made to the students, faculty, and alumni warrants the gratitude of all.
