Diemer who is retiring after eighteen years of faithful service to CMSC. - Speakers at the convocation were: Donald Barnes, CMSC junior, representing the student body: Dr. Emmett H. Ellis, Associate Professor of Mathematics, who spoke in behalf of the faculty: and the Reverend Charles H. McEowen, President of the CMSC Alumni, who represented the graduates of CMSC. A testimonial dinner was held that evening at Todd Hall in honor of Dr. Diemer at which time I. C. Higgins, President of the CMSC Student Government Association, Dr. R. E. Wood, Professor of Social Studies and Iames C. Kirkpatrick, Chairman CMSC Board of Regents, gave testi- monials. Lester B. Wikoff, Secretary-Treasurer at Went- worth Military Academy gave the address of the evening. In addition to his position as President of CMSC, Dr. Diemer is well known for his services as an international elxponet of good will in education both here and abroad. Dr. Diemer had made the name of CMSC known in Iapan, Germany and Libya, where he has helped to organize schools and colleges like our own. Thus October 12 and all through this year of 1955-56 we pay tribute to one of CMSC's great presidents.
