Within the covers of this book we have attempted to present to you not only a pictorial re- view of our four years in medical school, but also a photographic essay on the molding of a physician. I hope that we have been able to capture some of the laughter and sadness, and even awe, that has appeared candidly on our faces during these few short years. The idea of this essay was conceived leisurely over dinner in our freshman year , it was born during a class meeting during our second year, it was nurtured and subsequently developed during our third and fourth years , and this evening after a tiring rotation in the emergency room the book is ready to walk on its own. No one person can take credit for what most obviously has to have been the herculean task of many. If I could I would like to singularly applaud the efforts of each member of my staff, but space will not permit it: I will, however, extend a kiss of gratitude to Barbara Breger for so much done so well. The remainder of my staff will be listed unceremoniouslyg I would appreciate it greatly if you would express your thanks to them personally as you see them during the coming years.
