Kappa Delta Pi Honors Dr. Watkins Kappa Delta Pi is an honorary fraternal society for those going into the field of education. Thus its membership is open to early childhood, elementary, junior high, and secondary education majors. Their theme for the year was How legislation affects education and several speakers talked on this topic during the year. In the fall, the honorary coordinated a coffee hour for all students interested in education to acquaint these people with professional organizations on campus. Two initiation banquets were held and at the spring one Dr. Gordon Watkins, Dean of School of Education, was made an honorary member. The year ended with the annual steak bar- beque and election of officers at Sanmarcand. Squires Contribute to Conestoga The goal set for Camp Conestoga came a giant step closer to its fulfillment with a contri- bution from Squires of over $225 which was obtained from the highly successful concert fea- turing The Highwaymen and Jo and Eddie held in February. Squires, a Sophomore men ' s honor- service organization, also delivers the El Gaucho three times a week, ushers at various events such as the inauguration of Chancellor Cheadle, and participates in Frosh Indoctrination.
