The combination is the forerunner of other Colleges within the University system and it is in keeping with the previous decision by the Regents to have Santa Barbara as a general campus. Also effective July l, the Engineering School shall open on this campus. Already construction of this school and acceptance of qualified students has begun. ln spite of the rapid expansion of this campus, the Admin- istration is attempting to retain the atmosphere of a small college and to maintain the close relationship between faculty and students.
