l Physical Sciences :-f ln the Physical Sciences practical application of classroom theories was attained through laboratory work and field trips. Freshmen struggled through Physics, Chemistry, and Math courses, they asked the question How? Their upper division lab assistants had gone ahead to ask the question, Why? in relation to more advanced fields of knowledge. ln their attempt to answer these ques- tions faculty and students together conducted research projects. - UCR's Physical Sciences Department has shown outstanding work in this the technical age of satellites, rockets, and atomic power.
