Clcin's first For the tirst time in its his- tory, UCR fielded a track squad. The team did well under the coaching of Gil Allan, and finished the season with a 2nd place fin a tour-way meet? in their only home appearance. Prospects tor next year are high, with nearly all members of the squad returning. He flies through the air with the greatest ot class?? the daring young man Ueff Babcock? who will land on his. . . The jump was good for 21 feet. Wearing the Blue and Gold of UCR Charlie Christy clears the bar at six feet even to estab trcicksters Bob Woertink appears to be stepping into the tape for a first place in the 440, but alas .. . he was edged out of first by a runner Cnot picturedl to his right.

Ken Robinson was the big man at the plate, compiling a .465 batting aver- age while getting more hits, doubles, triples, and homers than any other player. On the hill, Dick Small hurled in ZOM, innings, winning two, losing none, and posting an earned run aver- age of 0.00. Roy Dull and George Matthews lead the team in the runs- batted-in catagory with lO apiece. With no seniors on the squad, UCRans can look forward to a better record next season.
