DANIEL G. ALDRICH JR. CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, IRVINE Students at the University of California, Irvine have cause to take special pride in their accomplishments during the I966-67 academic year. This has been a time when many of the seeds of innovation and experiment, planted during Irvine's first year, have begun to take root. Notable examples, I believe, were the adoption of a form of student government which incorporates interesting departures from the usual, implementation of the honor code to the extent that it has been possible to minimize rules pertaining to student conduct, and significant student participation in a wide variety of innovative education programs. Each of these and many other activities initiated with the founding of this campus have required intelligent, thoughtful and industrious student effort. UC Irvine's students have responded well to the challenges and opportunities. Za .Mm Gael
