Academic Procession. Charter Day . In the earlier days of the University it was customary to set aside one day to i be known as Charter Day, to commem- orate the signing of the Charter of the University. More recently it has been found neces- sary to set aside a week so that all eight f campuses might have an opportunity to honor this significant event. This year at Davis Charter Day was doubly significant in that the new Vet- erinary Science Building was dedicated, the construction of which has fulfilled a long-standing need in California. x President Sproul speaks in Rec. Hall.
