seniors The Class of 1955 had a very active year as they returned to campus in the fall to take over senior status. President Rich Davis led the class through their very eventful and successful year. Early in the fall, the senior class council sponsored a jazz concert which featured Cal Tjader and his mambo orchestra. As an added attraction of the concert the class presented Stan Wilson, famous guitar player, who performed in his usual manner and won the approval of all present. In late October the council sponsored their first sing of the year and used Inter-Sing-Tun) as the theme for the Halloween event. The sing was enjoyed by those attending, however, the group was small because this was the middle of knowledge testing time in the semester! Along with the other class councils, under the leadership of the Class Officers ' Board, the seniors helped sponsor and support the annual Santa Claus contest and Christmas Party for underprivileged children. The party proved to be very successful and found many happy children leaving the party with their much appreciated gifts. Occasionally throughout the year the council held informal meetings and three parties, which were observed in the traditional senior manner. They served as excellent mixers and a good time was had by all attending. The spring semester found the council concerned primarily with the preparation of the senior week activities. Sue Matthews and Hermie Lopez served as general co-chairmen of the week ' s events. The events and their chairmen held throughout the week were as follows: Baccalaureate, Corinne James and Sherrill Dobrowsky; President ' s Reception, June Hanson and Rosemary Meehan; Pilgrimage, Mary Rothganger; Ferry. boat Party, John Gerhart; Barbecue, Ted Johansen and Sylvia Swan; Men ' s Banquet, Chuck Stuart and Bruce Roessler; Women ' s Banquet, Barbara Clymer and Lou Curtis; Senior Ball, Rich Davis and Jerry Rowley: Breakfast, Bev Gleason and Fred Monroe.
