So broad has its service been that the American Alumni Council awarded it first place for editorial achievement over all other alumni publications in 1944. Organ- ized alumni centers throughout the state and beyond its borders work for united service, and include institutes to stimulate and maintain alumni contacts and pro- gress. Twelve years of raising scholarships in eight state districts have sent more than 800 outstanding high school leaders to the University at a cost of $160,000.
