Witter ' 16, presi- dent, the California Alumni Association offers increased facilities for its 25,000 dues-paying members, and a steadfastly devoted service to the University. Organ- ized alumni centers throughout the state and beyond its borders work for united service, and include institutes to stimulate and maintain alumni contacts and pro- gress. Twelve years of raising scholarships in eight state districts have sent more than 800 outstanding high school leaders to the University at a cost of $160,000. The Association will continue to for- ward progress of the University and to serve alumni in all ways. 28

So broad has its service been that the American Alumni Council awarded it first place for editorial achievement over all other alumni publications in 1944. Edited by Robert Sibley ' 03, the maga- zine will maintain its loyal support of the University, and remain a constant means of contact for alumni members.
