The first dedication occurred in spring 2014 to honor individuals from the class of 2012, and the second took place the Friday of homecoming week last fall. Ihe idea to dedicate the names arose out of a desire to highlight the university’s traditions, Miller said. “I think the UofA has many excellent traditions, but we don’t do the best job of celebrating or recognizing them,” he said. “When I started my job at the Arkansas Alumni Association, I brought the idea of officially dedicating the new segments of Senior Walk to the Student Alumni Board.” SENIOR WALK 29

A biological sciences instructor who taught almost a thousand students each semester at the University of Arkansas, passed away Sept. 14,2015. Greig Roberts earned an award as the Order of Omega Outstanding faculty member from UA Greek Organizations in 2008, as well as the 2010 UARK Master Teacher Award from the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. He was the first speaker for The Mortar Boards “Last Lecture” series as well. Roberts was born April 2, 1953, and he is survived by his wife, Vivian, daughter, Oakleigh, the Philpot family, and friends and family. A celebration honoring his life was held at the Fayetteville Town Center Sept. 18,2015. DR. ROBERTS 31
