NOT THE SAME OLD STORY The year started like most others, but this year was different. ▼ Gov. Bill Clinton proposed a tax- package which included major new funding for the University and the state ' s higher education system. T Politics blitzed students in the fall. Campus visits by vice presi¬ dential candidate Lloyd Bentsen and prospective first lady Barbara Bush urged collegians to get in¬ volved and cast their ballots. ▼ The athletic programs experi¬ enced a banner year, capturing seven Southwest Conference titles. And, the quest for a Cotton Bowl visit was achieved. Definitely, Not the same old story.
