years, you dust off this book and once more turn through it, you may again, in your memory, be brought back to wander through this grand old school. If, at that far distant time, the sight of these pictures or the sound of these words give you a thrill of recognition, this book will have gone a long way toward achieving its aim. If it can but recreate for only a moment a day at Arkansas then all the work that has gone into its creation will be fully justified. So try, as you go along with us through this record of one complete day at the university, to live in your mind a past today . Follow us. Within these covers you will find the campus and buildings just as you have seen them, just as they look day after day. You will meet informally, in their offices, the president and deans of the schools and colleges just as you might meet them any day. You will get a glimpse of students at work in class and lab, just as you might if you wandered some day down the corridors of the buildings in which they are at work. Their faces will look out at you again, some to smile and some to frown. There is a girl that sat on the front row in English and passed notes to the girl behind her. That boy lived in the house next door. He's a great guy, she' s a smooth dancer, and so on down the list. You'll know them when you see them. Some of them will be old friends, some mzrely nodding acquaintances, but all a part of a day at Arkansas. . Here, too, are the football games, the dances, the basketball games, sorority houses, parades, election days, and all those other things that follow the day round the clock. Work, study, play, twenty-four hours a day. So, this year, the RAZORBACK has attempted to give you the university today caught in pic- tures and bound between covers for your future enjoyment. This picture is spiced with humor, not maliciously, but in a sense of good fun. If you have been offended, it was but an accident. There are no doubt errorsg in an undertaking so big they are always inevitable. We can only trust that you will be open minded in your judgment. Read this book for enjoyment and reread it for memory's sake. May it be a lasting reminder of happy days, good friends, and pleasant places. We say explanation , for this is not, in any true sense, a dedication. We do not believe that there is any need for a dedication for the theme itself carries with it an inscription and full meaning all its own. This book's sole aim is to give you Today at Arkansas .
