‘ ¢ g° ty 8, Dr. Phyllis Greenhouse Professor of Home Economics DEPARTMENT OF Home Economics The Home Economics Department is under the efficient leadership of Dr. Phyllis Greenhouse. Dr. Greenhouse and her staff work increasingly with student recruitment, stu- dent guidance, and follow up. One of the outstanding fea- tures of the Department has been the curriculum expansion which has kept pace with changin g needs in the area of Home Economics. The Home Economics Department, because of the con- demnation of its building, is temporarily housed in the Agricultural Building, the Forum Room in the Lawrence A. Davis Student Union and in cottage number one on faculty row. Despite its present limited facilities, the department con- tinues its sound method of training students for their roles in various vocations. The department looks to the future with the hope that soon its faculty can be expanded, ade- quate facilities will be constructed and an enriched pro- gram for the expansion of the nursery school, curriculum in foods and nutrition and a broad program in family rela- tions and child development. The department plans to put increased emphasis on Institutional Dietetics as soon as facilities will permit. The department with its many projec- tions for the future will continue to attract quality students and prepare them for the opportunities that await them in the future where they can serve a worldwide community.
