We walk through this wide world in peace and with courage We gained while we sat at thy sanctified seat, We come when thou call’st us to battle, dear mother, And cast all we have at thy glorified feet. In days of our childhood, we romped in the wildwood; We waded the brooks, sipped the sweet morning dew. We heard of great treasures of wisdom and knowledge — Of wealth not for purchase of goodness and you. We entered thy portals with some trepidation; We knew not what fates awaited us there, Thou girded our loins with the strength of Gibraltar; We drank from thy fountain and breathed thy pure air. We breathed thy great spirit and learned of more wisdom, More true through the vistas of life can we see The work of thy hand as it guided our footsteps With faith thou did’st teach us as we sat by thy knee, No more shall we wonder who gave thee thy powers, No one but our God can bestow such a gift. We step with thy heart-strokes today, and forever Thy flag to the breezes of heaven we lift. Chorus Alma Mater, we love thee; we love thee, dear mother And all that we have we cast down at thy feet. — John Brown Watson

Ever-Changing; Ever-Progressing As far back in history as man has been able to probe through the means of ancient records and explorations, he has noted many changes in the life of man. Each change led to another, as it gave man a desire to learn more about himself and about his surroundings. Change is a chacterist- tic not only of the historic past but also of the contemporary world. As an essential segment of a community, country and, indeed, a world characterized by constant flux, it seems quite inevitable that A. M. and N. College should respond to this { change by continual adjustments in its physical, sociolog- : ical, academic, and cultural make-up. In order to facilitate the need for change, certain requirements must be met; such requirements as the construction of new, modern build- : ings and adequate facilities within those buildings; strength- : ening of curriculums and enrichment of cultural and other extra-curricular areas. Through the years, the institution has toiled, struggled and consistently exemplified a faith in the progress and betterment of the institution itself. The years have brought many changes — some big and some small — all fasci- nating. g It is, of course, important that any change be associated with progress. And with continous turning of the wheel of time, A. M. and N. College has exhibited signs of ever changing and ever progressing. It is in recognition of this striving-on — the part of the administration and the stu- dent body alike for this gradual betterment — that the theme “Ever Changing, Ever Progressing” is chosen. a hi tae rh ene Sd at Map of the proposed campus development plan. ee a eee eee eee eee EE
