Data Processing Center The large enrollment and increased demands by the state and federal agencies for reports on large amounts of finances received and disbursed by administrative offices on campus made it necessary to install the Data Processing Center. This center makes records keeping easier, faster, and more accurate. The Data Processing Center has six IBM machines that are used in the preparation of the many reports that have to be made to different agencies. The basic principle of IBM accounting is that informa- tion is recorded once on an IBM card which is then available as required to give desired results of machine processing. Data is registered on IBM cards in the form of punched a NL RNA holes which when comoleted and verified produce a lasting record which may be processed at machine speed to obtain desired or needed results.
