Bi hat DR. GARLAND D. KYLE Dean of Administration Class schedules, academic standards and attendance re- cords are issued from the office of the Dean of Administra- tion. This work is skillfully directed and organized by Dean Garland D. Kyle, who has been with the A. M. N. College faculty and administration staff for many years. Through his efforts and those of his staff the maximum of service from the office of the Dean of Administration is the A. M. N. College student body. The office of the Dean of Administration in addition to handling class schedules, formulating academic standards and issuing attendance records, must delve into and in many instances successfully solve the myriad of technical problems with which the student body is confronted. For such reasons it requires an individual that has had varied knowledge of human personalities and is able to cope with the many ob- stacles that the average college student faces. Dean Kyle has shown himself especially able in this area and has handled such difficulties in an exceptionally effective manner. Capability and experience are necessary assets for handling such an office as Dean of Administration; how- ever it must be kept in mind, that congeniality of character is necessary for promoting good relationships between stu- dents and faculty.

The calculations of machines, the clattering of type- writers, and the ringing of the cash register meets one at the door to the business office, one of the most vital assets to A.M. N. College. This office spear-headed by Mr. Sylve- ster Early, keeps an accurate account of the student’s finan- cial obligations and assists the president with the functional budget. Because of the size of the student body, the business office maintains a large staff, which includes students ma- joring in business. These students work on a part time basis and help in levying all student fees, keeping records on students’ accounts, controlling student salaries and compiling monthly and annual data. Although the business office still lacks sufficient room and the Business Manager faces many tasks such as handling, purchasing, exercising control over contracts, deeds, bonds and insurance, the situation is adequately coped with be- cause of the ability of the Business Manager to reflect his vibrant personality while ably handlin g his perplexing and sometimes complicated duties.
