4 i 12 DR. LAWRENCE A. DAVIS A. M. N. College President Dr. L. A. Davis or “Prexy”, as he is affectionately called by the students of A. M. N. College, is a man of many differ ent faces and moods. He is a dedicated and devoted educator who possesses deep convictions which he imple- ments in practical form. He is a warm and humane indi- vidual who feels compassion and love for the poor and rich alike. “Prexy’s” life is a busy one. It is filled with conferences, phone calls, meetings, speaking engagements and hand- shaking. He is busily working and extensively planning and contemplating for tomorrow’s problems, tomorrow’s respon- sibilities. Dr. Davis is a participant in a wide variety of organi- OA Ply rie Atos 4 erase ty tk tht a) 4d oe zations. Such organizations include the Commission of Col- leges and Universities, The National Council for Accredita- tion of Teacher’s Education. He is an alternate member of the National Cotton Board and a member of the National Conference for Education of the disadvantaged, and many more, in whom he takes undue pride. : Aside from this, in what the Arkansas Democrat termed “a landslide of reader’s response,” Dr. Davis was selected “man of the year.” The article in the February 4 issue, spoke of Dr. Davis’ impact upon the college, his writings and literary contributions. In this honor, we find a tribute to the Negro — his ability, his potentiality, and his merit. a Se es t —C=
