As time Went on, the number of courses increased, to meet the needs of the young people of the community. Then with the advent of the strong trend toward general education, President Davis formed the four divisions of study with a chairman of each. The Humanities Division consists of the languages, art, music, speech and dramatics and Bible, under the direction of Miss Hoelt- zel. Dr. Stevenson heads the Science Divi- sion, consisting of the physical and biological sciences. The Social Science Division is headed by Dr. Gardner, and the Applied Arts-com- merce, business and home economics-by Mr. Stahlkopf.
