Serving as University of Arizona President for the past 15 years, Richard A. Harvill has contributed to the intense develop- ment and phenomenal growth of the University in recent years. He succeeded in obtaining large amounts of money from sources out- side the state of Arizona in the form of research and instruction grants. Dr. Harvill ' s dedication to the University is demonstrated by his insistence of excellence on the part of the academic per- sonnel. Even though the University, one of the nation ' s great state universities, is ranked among the top 25 in enrollment, Dr. Harvill is sincerely concerned with the academic success of each student. Dr. Harvill ' s ambitions and goals for the University and its students will long-continue to contribute to the advancement of the Uni- versity of Arizona. Continuing a University tradition, Dr. and Mrs. Richard A. Harvill greet guests Dean and Mrs. James D. Forrester at the president ' s reception for University staff and family, held in the fall of each school year on the south lawn of the main library. 19
