ASSOC A ED STUDENTS The Associated Students of the University of Arizona, better known on campus as ASUA, has been busy this year promoting the welfare of the UA stu- dents. Its officers, Larry Betts, president; Bill Ismay, vice president; and Judy Clothier, secretary, have worked with ASUA council and various committee members to suggest many worthwhile proposals and list several accomplishments. One of the most popular projects can be found in efforts made to modernize the social code to meet the needs of an expanding student body. In addition to this, the group presented outstanding cultural events through ASUA Concerts and Artist Series. ASUA has also worked through public relations, including a program to recruit outstanding Arizona high school seniors for the UA, and through com- munity service projects designed to improve the rela- tions between students and the townspeople. The constant goal of the students ' governing body is to promote an academic atmosphere on campus.
