V ...GU b eautiiui Campus 31-si Palm-lined Drives amid Red Brick Buildings The gates at the main entrance of the University of Arizona stand open each day - in welcome to the beau- tiful campus which lies behind them. Inside the gates a palm-lined drive winds its way through the grounds. curving among the red brick buildings. Although built over a period of 60 years, the Universityis buildings have maintained harmony in architecture. Even the Weather looks with favor on the school, making spring fever a more than once-a-year affair. Sunshine and blue skies are the rule - rain and wintry weather are only occa- sional visitors. Bermuda lawns are deep green from April to November. XV inter rye grass keeps the ground green always in a few places. The University doesnt ignore its desert surroundings but tends its own bit of desert in the cactus garden across from the tennis courts. lt's a pleasant drive from Park Avenue to Cherry, for the University of Arizona indeed has one of the South- wests loveliest campuses. .i lk The Student Union with the Catalina Mountains as a Backdrop
