THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA has been under the jurisdiction of the new Board of Regents of the university and state colleges of Arizona since last Iune. At this time the separate boards of regents of the University of Arizona, the State Teach- ers' College at Tempe and F lagstalf respectively were combined into a joint board. An executive committee of three members was set up by the regents for each institution, which replaced the old buildings and grounds committee of the university board. These three groups are set up to deal with the problems of the individual institutions, and their problems are then submitted to the full Board of Regents. Members of the committee for the University of Arizona are lack Martin, Cleon T. Knapp, and C. E. Houston- The Board of Regents also named three members for committees on finance, education, and agriculture- Mr. lack Martin is now serving as President of the Board. Since Dr. Atkinson took over his of- lice as president ia 1937, he has supervised many campus improvements and has been active in promoting new projects and programs of education. Presi- dent Atkinson has willingly cooperated with students and the faculty to strengthen and thus maintain Arizona's growing reputation as an outstanding state university.
