I am deeply concerned about the gravity of the problems which today face free men every- where. We must depend upon the maturity of the individual for the solutions to the world problems. If our higher education does not develop this maturity in its students, then such fail- ure may well mean the early end of western civilization. We possess a noble heritage. We must be proud of it and let people everywhere know that we are. This is no time to question the faith of our fathers, but to be militant and extend it. This faith for a long, long time has been the dream of free men everywhere, the hope of the free world. We must not let it perish with us. Walk proudly in your heritage!
