SONG IN A DENTISTS CHAIR By CHRISTOPHER MoRL1-:Y All joys I bless, but I confess there is one greatest thrill: Wfhat the dentist does when he stops the buzz and puts away the I-Iis engine hums along my gums its excavating drone I salivate and gurgling wait, vibrating to the bone Oh will he save this tooth concave or will he now decide To grind away some more decay? I'Ie murmurs, HOpen Wide So I must feel the burring steel, the hot and fragile twinge And mutely bide till he push aside the bracket on the hinge. But will he swerve toward that nerve? I wonder, gagged agape: I-Ie sees me gulp and spares the pulp-My God, a close escape! The creosote is in my throat, I weep against my will, My nostrils itch, sensation which I can't relieve until I-Ie stops the buzz and packs in fuzz and puts away the drill. I grant the bliss of love's warm kiss, or wealth, or fame, or skill: These I esteem but yet I deem there is one greater thrill- When he stops the buzz as at last he does, and puts away the drill! I drill

If he had had one more tooth to carve he would have died-the simple way out to say the least. 5 V F . Talmadge Farrar is a very economy minded fellow. He has enough samples to keep ' his practice going for several years. It is rumored that he has two bedrooms. a kitchen. A a living room. and a sample room in his apartment. ' 1 Bill DuBose is no plumber nor is he a plumber's son but he could trace pipes in the C lecture room better than anyone. ln fact it took nearly an hour for Bill to trace the pipes in room -10. Dr. McCracken's memorable lecture will never be forgotten when he said, 4'Oh, how right Dr. Kennedy was when he placed Class II between I and lllln Jerry Shiver had a patient to regurgitate while he was holding impression material in her mouth, but he showed that it pays to hold on. Never say die! his stethoscope in his ears. . GJ as J' XM We Bill Burton bemg the community minded person that he is volunteered to keep the alley lighted for his friends. Dr Rowe had a little dif- ficulty replacing a denture impression in his patient's mouth. No wonder, wrong patient! Al Philipson solved his problem of a hard to fit denture. This trouble ceased when he suggested to the patient that she needed some surgery done John Parrish was embarrassed to find that he was listening to a young femaleis heartbeat without the ear pieces of X i 'Y X f 1 I N - XX K ' K QQA before a more suitable den- ture could be made. Little Henry Bright had a beautiful wedding with a multitude of guests. He even took several of his guests with hi on his honeymoon. Mrs. Hudson was called upon, but Mrs. Hudson just couldn't hear with all of the doors and window locked. Parker Shaffer took a powder at one of the dances. Gone over night. Grifts for breakfast. John Crawford has kept everyone posted on the train schedule for four years. The whistle was just one of ,lohn's famous trademarks. Ben Renwick stayed edentu- lous for a year waiting for the perfect fitting partial. Where are those dentures, Ben? I l I 1 sf I l'y VA Qing ' , P17 -QQ E0 As we now -look back on the last four years, our disappointments, fears, and hardships seem small in the light 4 our expectations for the future. May we carry with us the memories of good times and good fellowship we enjoye together over these last four years.
