I 1 LEWIS RUSH BAILEY, D.D.S. Professor of Dentistry It is with regret that our tribute to Dr. Lewis Rush Bailey is also a farewell. Dr. Bailey will begin the next academic year with Indiana University. We have all been enriched by our associations with him. His gentlemanly manner, his subtle humor and valuable counsel will be missed by all who knew him here. It has been a particular interest of Dr. Bailey to acquaint each student with the newest of methods, equipment and materials - never confining us to static routines in prosthetic problems. Each case was a student problem, the solution of which was subtly guided with an endeavor to let the student arrive at the most satisfactory end result. We have benefited greatly by this attitude and pay this tribute to Dr. Bailey in recognition of our gratitude to him.

JOSEPH PETER LAZANSKY, M.D., D.D.S., D.M.D. It is with deepest sorrow that we, the Class of 1956, dedicate this book to Dr. Joseph Peter Lazansky. The dedication of a yearbook is generally a happy occasion. It offers a means by which the student body expresses their particular gratitude to a faculty member who has made an exceptional contribution to their education. Before this book could be published and our appreciation expressed, Dr. Lazansky passed away. Despite his poor health he was busy at work in his office when the fatal accident occurred. Dr. Lazansky's seemingly unexhaustible energy was continuously directed toward the further advancement of the school and student body. He attempted in his own inimitable way to convey to us the vast store of knowledge which he had ac- cumulated during his educational career. We shall continue to receive these benefits each time we apply in our practices the technique that he taught us. It is our good fortune to have been associated with Joseph Peter Lazansky. With sincerest gratitude and with deep sorrow we, the Class of 1956, dedicate this book in his memory.
