The years of learning have been our path through the skies, our beacon of light showing us the way to higher glories and fulfill- ment. They have also been impar- ting to us the fine skills to be creative, imaginative, useful leaders of strong character and to be the best we can possibly be. This year, the University of Akron celebrated its tenth year anniversary of becoming a state institution How many of the peo ple that attended Buchtel College in the 1800 s would have guessed that that small college would prosper and grow into being the third largest college In Ohio? The fine leadership and guidance the want of a good education and the need to develop the arts and the sciences were all pathways to a higher glory

individualism putting your thoughts on paper whether it be an essay, equations, poetry, doodles or just your name. expressions of yourself that no one can duplicate or ever take away from you. Each person at the University wants to be the best that they can be in their own field To become the greatest in their creative art Just like poetry And so during this anniversary of the University and its Colleges of Nursing and Fine and Applied become more aware of their be ing We have all spread our wings of knowledge and tested them against the stars of experience We have all become like Pegasus not so much a constellation inthe sky but of riders to the sky We have taken the same fabled journey towards a greater and brighter tomorrow with all the hopes and dreams that you can see in a poem And it has all begun at The University of Akron Arts, all of the students have
