BOARD OF EDUCATION Norman Arnold, Leslie Smith, James Steinman, Howard Hagerman, Russell Shriver, Arthur Kuntz, Maurice Conover, Carleton Myers, Clarence Simon. August 31, I960 marked the twelfth year for Community Unit District No. 4. The personnel of the 7-member Board of Educa- tion has completely changed during the years, but school attorney William Dieterich of Quincy has been employed by the Unit during the entire thirteen years. Norman Arnold was employed as the new superintendent this year. Arthur Kuntz, who farms near Ursa, is an eight-year member of the Board and has been its president for the last five years. Maurice Conover, who is the Board's secretary, is serving his sixth year. Mr. Conover farms near Lima. Clarence Simon, farmer of Fowler, is a six-year member. Five-year members of the Board are Russell Shriver, -Ursa farmer, and James Up- church, Mendon, an electrician for Gardner-Denver. Carlton Myers who lives in Mendon and manages an Experimental Farm for Moorman's came to the Board of 1957-1958. Howard Hager- man, a member of the faculty of Quincy College, and Leslie Smith, a farmer who lives near Loraine, were elected in I960. They have met their challenge to chart the course of education within this district and helped educators in keeping to the course of providing a good educational system for Unit 4. The building program which has been undertaken this year, has been a particular challenge. 4
