STUDENT COUNCIL Homecoming activities highlighted Student Council work this year. With the able co-operation of all school organizations, the homecoming parade, dance, and mid-game entertainment were all that was hoped for by returning alumni. A Judo expert, a hypno- tist, and a gymnastic team were among the assembly programs brought to Unity this year by the Student Council. The Student Council of Unity is composed of four elected officers, the class Presidents and a Representative of each organization. The members of this year’s Council are: President, Gerhard Jung; Vice-President, Linda Bowers; Secretary, Nancy Rutledge; Treasurer, Karen Shipe; Representatives Fred Stockhecke, Jerry Houdy- shell, Paul Mealiff, David Strickler, Judy Peter, Kathleen Duncan, John Hendrickson, Larry Cornwell, Lois Steiner, Nancy Dedert, Sandra Schafer, Janeen Baker, Melvin Caldwell, Carol Kropp, Connie Cornwell, Barbara Emmert, Bob Worman, and Sharon Harms. Co-Sponsors: Mr. Shrader and Mr. Cameron. Seven senior girls and six junior girls were chosen by their classmates to be candidates for Homecoming Queen. These girls were: Karen Shipe, Sandra Schafer, Linda Bowers, Janeen Baker, Sondra Baker, Connie Cornwell, Judy Peter, Nancy Daugherty, Nancy Rutledge, Lois Steiner, Sandra Holtman,Judith Evans, Maureen Caley. One week later, the entire student body voted for four seniors and three juniors. The girl receiving the highest number of votes was declared Queen and the next three high in each class became members of her Court, 16
