De JONG . . .adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things CTitus 2: 109 Dear Graduates, The English word adorn is derived from the Latin ad, to, and orno, deck We sometimes sa h - Y t at he or she is all decked out to go places. Well, you are! Christian education should give you a lustrous beaut 'd ' y evi ent to all observing people. We hope too that you may adorn every place you go. Adorn is more lofty and spiritual than ornament. My dictionary says that adorn refers to a beauty which is not ' l ' malteria and cannot be put on by ornaments or decoration We sa of some ' Y admirable scholar or statesman, he touched nothing that he did not adorn. But that is not all. Paul instructs Titus to tell servants to evidence such complete reliable- ness, that altogether they shall beautify the teaching of God our Saviour.
