I imagine we'l1 have to wait just ages to sell these books. Remember in September when the kids were crowding in line to buy 'em? Man, when Ithink about the fun we had this year, I hate to think of leaving. Me too. We sure had a riot at those basketball games, especially those in our new gym. Ding: You bet, our gym really came in handy for the operetta, play, assemblies, and other doings. Dong: It was nice that we got to use the gym one year anyway. WE DEDICATE TO' O MR. WALTER A. DE JO G, Gur Principal The special privilege is reserved to us, the class of '57 to dedicate this year's annual, the SILHOUETTE, to our worthy principal, Mr. Walter A. De Jong. We, the seniors, have been the first to experience four years of his untiring service. We, who were students under the conscientious leadership and administration of Mr. De Jong, feel greatly indebted to him for the outstanding manner in which he has applied Christian philosophy to the many problems which confronted him and all of us each day. We trust that our Covenant G cd will ccntinue to use his loyal services for many years and that both Mr. De Jong and Unity Christian High may continue to be blessed as we have been in the past. Some of us had Mr. De Jong, for Bible. Yes, he was really busy that year. He taught Freshmen and Sophomore Bible, Church History, and Reformed Doc- trine, and he was principal of a new school at the same time. In our Sophomore year he taught Reformed Doctrine and last year he had to take over the Reformed Doctrine class es to fill the place of Mr. Oostendorp. It is a good thing he doesn't have any classes to teach this year, or his family would never see him. That's for sure! He's constantly working for the good of our school. five
