Changes improve campuses United Township can be called The Land of Many Changes this year with the numerous preventive maintenance and modernization projects throughout the school. A new computer lab at north campus, equipped with 30 TRS-80 computers, was installed to help improve the math skills of all north campus students. The home economics room at north campus was completely remodeled, receiving a new floor, new walls, teak-wood cabinets, tormica countertops, and a new pantry. One working unit was built to accommodate handicapped students. Poor piping in the floor initially brought about the remodeling. Mrs. Willie Newenham, home economics teacher, enthusiastically praised the project, I just think it's fantastic that our school board saw fit to do this for us. Both north and south campus' parking lots were resurfaced. The aisle direction was changed to get cars in and out in a safer manner. according to Mr. Lawrence Dussliere, business manager. The north campus tennis courts were renovated due to water gain which had caused puddles and cracks. The courts are now good enough for the pros to play on, said Miss Sue Uranich, physical education teacher and assistant tennis coach. A new school flag was designed by Michelle Glenn, senior. The chimney was reinforced, and new energy-conserving windows were installed at north campus. The special education room was moved and completely remodeled, and the audiovisual room was also relocated. Many roofs were repaired at both campuses, and the bus garage roof was replaced.
