with a sand-pit at one end and a pole vaulting area at the other end. A high jumping area was also included. The hill behind the west side bleachers was torn down and replaced with new, permanent grandstands, These new bleachers will seat 1800 people. New 75- person locker rooms, complete with showers, storage area, and rooms intend- ed as coaching offices, will be constructed directly under the new, west side bleach- ers. Another improvement is a new drain- age system. The improved water-removal system moves water through a series of drainage areas into a local storm sewer. The improved system keeps water from getting to the loess soil which has contri- buted to many of the problems at Soule Bowl. The scoreboard will be slightly off-cen- ter so that it will be hit less often by field goals. Construction is scheduled to be fin- ished in August, 1982. fn rev ' .gig 1.
